The Role at a Glance

As the Underwriting Assistant, you will be working within a metrics driven environment in which you are responsible for processing Renewals, U100 lives . This position requires strategic and innovative thinking skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment that requires strong attention to detail.

What you\'ll be doing

• Develops an understanding of basic risk factors for application in daily work.
• Manipulates census data, and runs manual ratings for inforce customers on the U100 business.
• Reviews and interprets competitor policies, manipulates census data, and runs manual ratings on prospective customers to support large case new business.
• Provides timely and high-quality work to Underwriters, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Applies time management skills to prioritize deadlines appropriately.
• Builds strong relationships and partners with Underwriters.
• Works well independently but also has strong skills working in a team environment.
• Communicates effectively with internal/external stakeholders while maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
• Participates in various ongoing projects allowing insight into other areas of the organization.
• Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
• Meets or exceeds departmental quality standards.
• Applies knowledge obtained from the role in increasingly more complex situations and continues to acquire more knowledge to apply in role.

Must-Haves:

• High School or GED
• 3-5 years of work experience

Nice-to-Haves:

• 1+ years of Insurance or Financial Services experience

Pay Range: $19.30 - $24.37

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln\'s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln\'s standard benefits package.
