Job Description

Position Summary Responsible for the leadership, training, and daily supervision of the Housekeeping and Maintenance department. Address Guest complaints and inquiries; Direct liaison with Housekeeping and Maintenance department on daily and forecasted occupancy levels and all guest matters. Position Requirements

  • 4-year degree/diploma from an accredited college or university or equivalent additional experience.
  • 3 or more years supervisory experience in Housekeeping or Maintenance.
  • CPR/First Aid preferable.
Position Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping and Maintenance Department. This includes a daily review of room availability to maximize revenue and occupancy for the resort program.
  • Schedule and plan the work assignments for the department and supervise the staff.
  • Prepare and conduct performance evaluations for each team member on an annual basis.
  • Oversees all aspects of Housekeeping and Maintenance Department
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Management Activities
  • Interview, select and train employees.
  • Set and adjust their rates of pay and hours of work.
  • Direct the work of employees.
  • Appraise employee productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
  • Handle employee complaints.
  • Discipline employees.
  • Plan the work.
  • Determine the technique to be used.
  • Apportion the work among the employees.
  • Determine the type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, or tools to be used or merchandise to be bought, stocked, and sold.
  • Control the flow and distribution of materials or merchandise and supplies.
  • Provide for the safety and security of the employees or the property.
  • Monitor or implement legal compliance measures.
  • Customarily and regularly direct the work of at least 6 or more full-time employees.
  • Authority to hire or fire other employees or make suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees.
