Facilities DivisionLocation: T-S-T BOCES CampusDUTIES: *Performs a variety of repairs to buses, automobiles, trucks, tractors, and other machinery and equipment. *Schedules maintenance work to insure proper servicing of vehicles and equipment. *Repairs ignition systems, generators, regulators, etc. *Repairs or replaces springs, axles, wheel bearings, transmissions, clutches, heater cores, brake systems, pumps and carburetors. *Makes minor welding repairs to bodies and chassis. *Paints bus bodies and repairs interiors including seats and windows. *Adjusts steering mechanisms and aligns wheels. *Maintains records of parts and supplies used and prepares requisitions. *May perform major engine overhauls. *May drive school bus on a regular basis or substitute as needed. *Works under the direction of Director of Facilities. *Oversees Automotive Mechanics. * Does other related work as required.QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic (completion of a traineeship AND two years of journey-level experience); OR Seven (7) years working as a skilled automotive mechanic. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
