Job Description


Nature of WorkThis position serves as the Nutrition Services Unit Coordinator supervising nutrition professionals responsible for nutrition services training, monitoring, and audits of WIC clinics, and ensuring competency and technical skills of all personnel determining eligibility, nutritional risk, providing intervention, prescribing supplemental foods, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to implement public health nutrition services. This position is responsible for development and consistent implementation of nutrition services in WIC clinics statewide, as well as building population-based programming to address nutrition security, by interpreting federal regulations, applying public health nutrition services standards, developing pilot projects with evaluation, and utilizing relevant food, nutrition, and health science. The Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) management team position must lead the training as well as development of print materials, online education, telehealth, and resources for certification and eligibility, nutrition services, nutrition risk assessment, health screening, and coordination with the healthcare system and other maternal and child health programs for all ONS programs. Represent ONS in state, federal and national work groups and committees including the State Nutrition Action Council and serving as the West Virginia representative for the Association of State Public Health Nutritionists. The position requires frequent in-state and out-of-state travel as well as a master's degree in food/nutrition, or related field, be registered or eligible for registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and have a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree from a four year accredited institution in nutritional sciences, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, public health, nutrition or family and consumer sciences with an emphasis in nutrition.Click The APPLY Link To Apply Online.IMPORTANT: Your eligible score will be based on information provided in your application; therefore, make sure your application is detailed and complete.
