Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a dedicated Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk to join our Health Information Management team. The Health Information Clerk plays a vital role in accurately entering diagnostic and procedural information, daily charges, encounters, and other essential patient data. Additionally, the Clerk will be responsible for various HIM Department tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter diagnostic and procedural information, daily charges, encounters, and other pertinent patient data.
Validate, capture, and enter charges accurately.
Review and code procedures as directed and assigned through electronic work queues.
Collaborate with the coding supervisor to address and resolve coding-related denials and rejections.
Conduct research, data analysis, and draw conclusions to resolve issues effectively.
Demonstrate proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Possess the ability to read and interpret medical procedures and terminology.
