JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment used in utility line construction. Work is based out of our Kalispell Montana shop.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid (Class A) Interstate Commercial Driver s License is required. (Or the ability to obtain with in 6 months)
High school diploma, or its equivalent, and 5 years of experience and/or training in vehicle/construction equipment repair or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior Experience and/or training repairing equipment used in utility line construction, including digger derricks, aerial man lifts, horizontal directional drills, forklifts, tractors, backhoes, excavators and truck mounted cranes.
Candidate should have knowledge & experience with the safe use of tools typically found in a shop setting.
An understanding of the rules and requirements of DOT inspections will be needed for success in this role.
An advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements applicable to equipment operations, repair, and maintenance is needed.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.

Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, as well as experience with electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems.

Familiarity with mechanical design, welding, and fabrication.

Skills include use of power and hand tools, use of diagnostic equipment and experience with operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.

Ability to work in remote settings with little to no supervision for extended periods of time.

Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner.

Knowledgeable in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, email, and the use of the internet.

Work is based out of local shop; however, travel is expected and likely.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnoses, rebuilds, and repairs all vehicles and heavy equipment which is used in utility line construction. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, digger derricks, aerial man lifts, horizontal directional drills (boring equipment), forklifts, tractors, backhoes, excavators, and truck mounted cranes.

Orders/Requisitions new parts as needed for equipment repairs. Follows company procedures with regards to purchase order process and approval.

Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

Responsible for the shops, plant, and parking areas. Including general housekeeping and appearance, disposal of trash, parts and materials that have no value. Re-cycle scrap and sell off used parts and materials that have cash value.

Ensure the security of the buildings, tools and equipment, and other assets, at all times.

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Familiar with Company policies, guidelines, and OSHA in order to rectify any safety hazards or violations.

Receive calls and requests for repairs from field crews. Analyze and prioritize needs and respond accordingly. Maximize use of vendor delivery services.

Travel to field locations inside and outside the state of Montana. Travel schedule is inconsistent and on occasion travel may occur with little to no notice.

Establish and supervise field lubrication services.

Process and route all paperwork including time sheets, packing slips, invoices, memorandums, DOT information, expense sheets, and faxes, etc. accurately and timely.

Performs additional duties as assigned.
