• Conducts data quality reviews, and serves as trainer for other coding staff.
• Demonstrates a good understanding of MS-DRG and APC assignment and reimbursement.
• Assists in reconciling coding and billing issues.
• Supports and exemplifies the hospital established AEC Values and Standards of Behavior

• Education: High School Diploma, Must be a graduate of an AHIMA accredited program with completion of the CCS/RHIT/RHIA programs including the successful completion of the registration exam
• Experience: 1-2 experience in an Acute Care hospital setting preferred
• Certification/Licensure: CCS required or within acceptable timeframe after completion of program; RHIT/RHIA preferred
• Software/Hardware: Meditech Experience preferred;
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required.
