The laboratory analyzes over 6,500 biopsies/cases per year and performs a variety of techniques, specialty stains, and ancillary services that yields to providing the highest quality, accuracy, and timeliness in the delivery of patient results. The laboratory works collaboratively across various areas within and outside Anatomic Pathology, including Mayo Clinic Laboratories/clients, and the Microscopy and Cell Analysis Core Laboratory.While making a large impact, the Renal Biopsy Laboratory is a smaller department with a strong sense of teamwork. These technical procedures may include accessioning specimens, specimen processing and microtomy techniques, paraffin, frozen, and plastic. Technical staining procedures include routine Hematoxylin and Eosin, special stains, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemical staining, and in situ hybridization. Participates in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed.Histotechnologist:Prepares specimens and performs testing procedures on pathology specimens that result in the creation of microscopic slide preparations for diagnostic and/or prognostic analysis by the pathologist. Applies technical theory to provide overall operational support necessary to maintain and optimize testing activities.**These positions are not eligible for visa sponsorship.
