Job Responsibilities

YOUR APPLICATION IS STILL BEING CONSIDERED. ** Operates sweeper truck sweeping in Lexington County and any other Municipalities as needed. Operates sweeper truck in Lexington and Richland County for cleaning of interstate barrier wall. Also, with daytime restrictions set forth by SCDOT Headquarters on I-20, I-26, and I-77 around the Columbia Metropolitan area, night work is a mandatory requirement to complete work orders on these sections of interstate. Keeps a log on roads swept and location information is submitted to supervisor daily to be entered into the Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS). Performs preventive maintenance on sweeper daily. Performs minor maintenance and upkeep on sweeper truck. Operates dump truck to remove debris from roadway. Works as required or as necessary during hazardous weather or emergencies to ensure the safety of the motoring public.

This Position is located at District One: Lexington Maintenance

Minimum and Additional Requirements

One (1) year of related work experience; or relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator\'s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
