Job Summary: Join our prestigious wine tasting room in Newcastle, California, as a Host/Customer Service Specialist. We are seeking an enthusiastic, solution-oriented individual with a strong passion for customer service to ensure our guests have an exceptional wine-tasting experience. Key Responsibilities:
Guest Reception and Hosting: Warmly welcome guests, provide an overview of our offerings, and create a welcoming and elegant atmosphere.
Customer Service: Deliver top-tier customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving any issues promptly, and ensuring an unforgettable experience.
Guest Management: Utilize reservation software to review, add, and edit reservations, re-assign tables, and manage capacity. Utilize POS software to complete transactions and update customer details.
Wine Presentation: Educate guests about our wine selections, including tasting notes, vineyard history, and winemaking processes.
Sales Support: Assist with sales, including recommending selections, processing transactions, and packing purchases.
Event Coordination: Support special events and private tastings, ensuring all details are executed flawlessly.
Physical Duties: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, stock wine and supplies, and lift up to 40+ pounds as needed.
Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with team members to create a seamless experience for guests.
Qualifications:
Customer Service Excellence: High degree of customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with POS systems and Reservations software; tech-savvy with the ability to troubleshoot and learn new systems quickly.
Problem-Solving: Passion for solution-oriented problem solving, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for up to 6 hours and perform physical tasks such as lifting and stocking.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with guests in a professional manner.
Interest in Wine: Genuine interest and knowledge in wine and winemaking, with a willingness to learn and share with guests.
Flexibility: Must have weekend and evening availability to meet the needs of our guests and events.
Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older due to the nature of the position.
