We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hotel Houseman to join our team. To be a successful Houseman, a candidate must be able to lift, move, push or pull heavy furniture. He/she must be able to stand for long periods of time. He/she must be able to kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. He/she must be able to have knowledge of and work around chemical cleaning solutions. He/she must know how to properly use cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and carpet cleaning machines. He/she must be self-motivated and able to complete his/her tasks with little or no supervision. He/she must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, which includes weekends and holidays and be willing to maintain high operating standards as specified by management.
Responsibilities
May participate in housekeeping services including cleaning, mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing the floors and other surfaces as well as the refinishing, waxing and polishing of floors, tile work and other various floor and wall surfaces in stairways, hallways, restrooms, and offices.
Empties and maintains cleanliness of all garbage containers around property.
Ensures that common areas including lobbies and staff offices are sanitary, clean and free of trash and debris.
Utilizes cleaning chemicals appropriately and ensures that he/she is conforming to established procedures in distribution and use of cleaning chemicals.
Polishes special metal fixtures and surfaces such as nickel and brass work.
Strips rooms upon checkout of all linens, including dirty towels, all bedsheets, blankets, and bedspreads as required, and transports to housekeeping laundry as well as picks up all dirty linens from any stayover rooms.
Take trash from check outs as well as pick up all trash from outside of any room
Move furniture away from walls; clean all exposed surfaces and returns furniture to proper position
Clean ceiling fans and hanging lights
Clean all windows inside and out including window ledges
Vacuum sliding glass door tracks
Pick up debris and trash around property and sweep common areas and stair cases
Requirements
Previous experience in hospitality or hotel housekeeping is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of floor care techniques and custodial practices is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor towards guests and team members.
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
