Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC): The Domestic Violence Action Center is committed to ending domestic violence and other forms of harm through leadership, unique services, legal representation, survivor and system advocacy, community education and social change work. The Housing Advocate at the Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC) works with clients residing at each DVAC housing site to provide safe housing, emotional support, advocacy and connections to other social services. - Previous experience in crisis intervention and long-term client advocacy. Knowledge of the criminal and civil justice systems.
- Familiarity with social service agencies on the island of Oahu and with multi-cultural styles of communications.
- Advocate will thoroughly assess the needs of clients assigned to them residing at VAC Housing site and provide long-term advocacy services.
- Advocate will participate in case review team meetings and will contribute to decisions about case plans and termination of the advocate/client relationship.
- Advocate will administer a risk assessment to all assigned clients.
- Advocate will provide safety planning to all assigned and outreach clients.
- Advocate works closely with DVAC\xe2\x80\x99s staff attorneys, paralegals, and community program staff.
