The (HASLC), is a federally funded Special Purpose Government Agency, created to provide rent subsidies, and promote affordable housing for low-income persons residing in . is the largest public housing authority in the state of Utah and the largest provider of Affordable Housing in the Salt Lake Valley. We currently assist over 10,000 individuals, who are seniors, persons with disabilities, children, previously homeless, and households with minimal income, a place to call home.

General Purpose as Housing Coordinator for Urgent Needs

The Housing Coordinator for Urgent Needs is responsible for assisting families with the emergency rental programs and resources to low and moderate-income households as risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability by providing rental arrears, temporary rental assistance, utility assistance, and connection to other services such as legal assistance or basic needs.

Requirements:

Essential Functions of Housing Coordinator for Urgent Needs * Conduct initial assessments to determine household qualifications.
  • Maintain files according to program requirements.
  • Coordinating services provided by community partners.
  • Assist with program audits and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with community service partners, including landlords and property managers.
  • Process and make decisions on high-volume of incoming requests for assistance.
Desired Skills & Experience of Housing Coordinator for Urgent Needs
  • The equivalent of a high school education and at least four years of experience in case management, social work, housing programs, or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, time-management skills, and ability to prioritize tasks to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Strong record-keeping, decision-making, evaluation, and analytical skills.
  • Professional, flexible, and ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with customers and community partners.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft programs and related software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting and budgeting principles.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and in a team environment,
  • Ability to relate to and communicate professionally with persons from all socio-economic, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.
  • Must have a valid Driver\'s License and maintain insurability with HASLC.
