Job Description


Housing SpecialistPOAH Communities is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Housing Specialist for our Briston Arms Apartments property. The Housing Specialist will assist with property management tasks, including HUD Section 8 and LIHTC certifications.Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Oversee regulatory requirements for each property\'s funding sources
  • Manage administrative tasks such as rent collection and processing move-ins/move-outs in the Yardi system
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to understand public housing occupancy cycle tasks and processes
  • Implement procedures including waitlist maintenance, eligibility and income evaluation, and rent and utility allowance calculations
  • Facilitate resident interviewing and screening processes
  • Understand lease and grievance procedures
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of property management experience
  • Experience with annual HUD certifications
  • Tax Credit Certificate (strongly preferred) or willingness to obtain within 60 days of employment (company-paid)
  • Experience with project-based and mobile vouchers
  • Knowledge of HUD rules and regulations
  • Experience with Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) System
  • Knowledge of Low Income Housing Tax Credit regulations
  • Proficiency in YARDI software
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
