McGee Air Services is looking for an HR Compliance & Operations Specialist II to join our team! This role is a part of the Compliance team and partners closely with the HR Program & Operations team to integrate policies and processes across the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Human Resources, specifically related to compliance, HR analytics, as well as HR programs/project management and process improvement.   • Foster and maintain an environment and culture where the safety of our team members and customers is of paramount importance
  • Collaborate with the Manager, HR Compliance, HR Leadership, and the broader People Team, to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as internal standards and procedures
  • Tracks updates to employment laws, conducts research, and analyzes data pertaining to employment regulations and legal requirements
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance reporting is in place for port, local, state, and federal government authorities
  • Maintains employee data through record retention
  • Compiles HR data conducting analysis, and compliance metrics, ensuring alignment with federal, state, local, and company requirements
  • Assists with the development of organization procedures, to uphold company policy and internal standards, as well as the creation and delivery of compliance training and communications as needed
  • Assists with handling internal and external legal records requests in collaboration with leadership and the legal department
  • May conduct or assist with conducting internal reviews to ensure internal processes align with local, state, federal, and port regulations
  • Assist in the unemployment claims life cycle process for each station, completing these claims in a timely manner
  • Assist in oversight of the random drug testing program administration for all stations
  • Maintain a variety of logs, records, and files; compile information from a variety of sources and prepare summaries and reports
  • Internally review various HR systems, worksheets, and databases; ensuring maintained records are reported as needed
  • Ensure all new and updated labor law notices are provided to employees in a timely manner and compliance posters are current and displayed appropriately
  • Responsible for various HR Operations and Programs workstreams and projects as assigned
  • Demonstrate and maintain open and honest communication, creating an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance culture that demonstrates McGee's values of Safety, Service, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Accountability, and Pride.
  • Other duties as assigned
Must haves to join our team:
  • 2+ years of experience in HR and compliance or risk management role or similar professional experience
  • 1+ years of program management experience, including change management, project management
  • Degree in business or human resources or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws, compliance requirements, HR, HR policies, and audit processes
  • Microsoft Suite, including Excel experience required
  • Excellent project management and collaborative skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate, when necessary
  • Sense of accountability and sound professional judgment
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, and also maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding documents and conversations involving team members, human resource matters, and all company confidential information
Salary Range (if applicable):The hourly rate range for this position is expected to be $28.17-$39.44 per hour.
