Job Description

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist, at our Paul, ID Factory, to work with prospective, current, and seasonal employees of the company. This employee will assist with hiring, administration, training, and ensure that the organization adheres to local, state, and federal employment regulations. This position will report to the Human Resource Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:




Work directly with all levels of employees and leaders across the organization, providing timely and quality customer service, responding to problems, questions, and issues/opportunities. Interview job applicants, check personal qualifications against job requirements, refer applicants to supervisory personnel for interviews and approval and facilitate employee orientation. Review incoming forms for completeness and request additional information as appropriate; prepare straight-forward documents, reports, and correspondence. Complete general human resource tasks such as verifying employment, state new hire reporting, tax credit screenings and compiling personnel files. Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding. Back-up the HR Supervisor as needed. Assist Public Affairs Manager with communications and social media related to the Paul, ID location. Collaborate with leadership to drive Employee Engagement, Talent Management, Training, Education, Compensation, and Compliance Management. Maintain current employee files both electronically and manually. This includes the data input and filing of all employee correspondence, changes and forms that come through the department. Sometimes this requires input into multiple systems and must be reviewed for accuracy. Track and monitor all employee time and attendance, including FMLA. Assist with processing hourly and salaried new hires, rehires, and terminations. Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from database as needed. Assist the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all employees. Assist with the preparation, tracking, and recording of performance review forms. Perform various research projects and/or special projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred. PHR, SHRM-CP preferred. 1-2 years' experience in the HR field or specified education equivalent to experience.
