Conducting focused surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) by detecting, recording, and analyzing HAIs on a systematic and current basis. Preparing reports for the Infection Control Committee of the facility or ambulatory setting.
Reporting communicable diseases as required by regulation.
Routinely rounding on all areas of clinical practice to evaluate infection prevention opportunities. Making recommendations when problems are identified.
Interpreting department policies and procedures in conjunction with the Director to ensure compliance and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection prevention or a related field.
Education: Requires a Masters in Public Health (MPH), Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification with a Bachelor of Science, or a Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) with current RN Licensure in the state of practice.
Certification: Must be eligible to sit for the Certification in Infection Control (CIC) certification at the time of hire and must obtain CIC certification within one year.
Licensure: Must hold an Alaska state license prior to starting.
Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support).
