Job Summary

In support of the Vice President of Technology and Learning Resources, provides leadership and guidance in critical areas of technology at the college, resource development and allocation, policy formation, technology evaluation, and service development, delivery, and deployment. Provide assistance to the VP in improving cost effectiveness, service quality, and IT operational effectiveness. Provides lead worker support for Riverland\xe2\x80\x99s workstation services, computer lab services, and the IT Help Desk. This position performs duties in planning, developing, implementing and supporting IT services. These duties include project management of technology projects, providing expert advice in troubleshooting systems and operation, technology equipment and recommending specifications for equipment. Analyzes technology trends and advancement in areas of specialization, and plans for the long-term direction of the IT organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, engineering, business administration or related field.
  • 3 years of related IT work experience including integration of large-scale projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills sufficient to write, prepare, edit and participate in discussions and communicate technical ideas and procedures to technical and non-technical staff and including faculty and students.
  • Project management sufficient to manage multiple projects simultaneously, create clear and attainable project objectives and deliverables, build project requirements, oversee the cost, time and scope of projects, manage project constraints, and communicate progress and end results.
  • Ability to plan, lead and schedule major system efforts and provide work direction and guidance to others.
  • Knowledge of information technology support and experience of both hardware, software and services for staff, student users and college infrastructure.
  • High level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and campuses to achieve technology objectives and foster a cooperative work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful general technology problem solving and support activities in both the academic and administrative environments at a college or university.
  • Knowledge of MN Statutes and rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of MinnState System & Board policies.
  • Ability to align behavior with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s needs, priorities, and goals.
  • Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation among team members.
  • Experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
