Summary of Responsibilities:



The Information Technology Support Specialist is primarily responsible for:

  • Installing
  • Testing
  • Monitoring
  • Upgrading
  • Troubleshooting and repairing computer systems, software, networks and peripherals in a Microsoft environment.
  • The Information Technology Support Specialist manages user account information by telephone or from a remote location a HIPAA compliant organization, including:
  • Rights
  • Security and systems groups
  • Provides technical assistance to computer system users
  • Answers questions and resolves computer problems
Please note this is not a remote opportunity. This position participates in a rotating on call schedule to support our facilities and employees that work a non-traditional work week to support 24-hour residential facilities. This position is typically on call 2 weeks per month.
  • All positions at AK Child & Family may have responsibilities altered during the course of employment due to agency imperatives.

Pay:
  • $20.58 per hour
  • 3% pay increase after successful completion of 6-month Intro Period.





Supervision and Coordination of Services:


The Information Technology Support Specialist reports directly to the Director of Information Systems.




Qualifications:



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • The Information Technology Support Specialist demonstrates the ability to understand and troubleshoot problems with computer and network hardware and software, printers, mobile devices other peripherals.
  • S/he also demonstrates the ability to communicate with users of varying technical expertise offering advice, training, solutions, and guidance, to work independently and within a team on assigned projects, to prioritize and track help desk calls.
  • S/he can accurately document items such as, help desk calls, software licensing, job procedures and other assigned tasks.
  • Possesses a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • General knowledge of networking, such as Active Directory, TCP/IP and DHCP is necessary.
  • Expertise and ability to support users with MS Office software is required.
  • A valid Alaska driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and adequately insured vehicle are needed for use on the job.
Education and experience:
  • Experience in supporting users, configuring, troubleshooting and repairing computer and network hardware, software and connections.
  • Experience in customer service and/or working with people in a supportive role.





Physical Demands:

  • The Information Technology Support Specialist must be able to drive to computer vendors, AK Child & Family sites and other destinations requested by supervisor.
  • The Information Technology Support Specialist must be able to efficiently operate computer systems, including printing.
  • The Information Technology Support Specialist must be able to evaluate computer problems and perform troubleshooting functions on AK Child & Family campuses.
  • The Information Technology Support Specialist must be able to lift computer equipment weighing up to 35 pounds and to conduct business via a telephone.
