Telephony Engineer

Job Summary:

We have a great opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our rapidly growing IT organization here at EyeCare Partners. This role will be responsible for managing IT infrastructure technologies with a current focus on Telephony but will transition to a broader focus including IT Networking and additional Infrastructure technologies in the future. Eyecare Partners is currently deploying a large scale telephony transition project that consists of moving to a new hosted phone system for ECP\'s 700+ locations and managing the technology associated to the new platforms. These technologies include contact center, call routing, number porting, softphone applications, QOS, efax, telephony hardware, etc. . In this position, the employee will also identify, research, and resolve problems while providing technical support and positive leadership within the IT organization.

Lastly, in this role, you will be asked to serve as subject matter expert on Telecommunications applications and Telecommunications infrastructure architecture. The Infrastructure Engineer position is part of the Eyecare Partners technical team and is expected to assist with future corporate acquisitions and software implementation and solution development.

The successful candidate will collaborate with vendors and internal customers, including the business leaders responsible for many acquisitions and new service related activities, e.g., site surveys, design, training and go live scheduling, etc., to deliver advanced telecom solutions which meet the needs of ECP Employees and ECP Customers.

The individual must bring a passion for many aspects of IT Infrastructure technologies, including VoIP, networking, business visibility, quality monitoring, etc., along with the ability to develop corporate direction for a multi-layered business organization.

Candidate should be able to deep dive into any related area for speedy resolution and develop systematic solutions/processes for future enhancements

Responsibilities and Duties:

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with other Infrastructure engineers to design and build telecom related technology solutions and architecture to support Eyecare Partners\' project portfolio.

\xc2\xb7 Serve as Subject Matter Expert for Eyecare Partner\'s evolving telecom VOIP architecture. This includes ensuring appropriate performance, capacity, resiliency, security practices and redundancy for all platforms including cloud hosted solutions.

\xc2\xb7 Work independently acting as relationship manager with internal and external business partners and application team to ensure optimal performance of telecommunications applications.

\xc2\xb7 Work with telecom team to provide system administration to insure the appropriate installation, support and maintenance of the corporate telecom systems and associated hardware, software and applications.

\xc2\xb7 Serve as subject matter expert on key technology trends in the industry leading to innovative solutions for business problems and initiatives.

\xc2\xb7 Monitor systems to ensure appropriate performance and SLA\'s are not violated. Must have the ability to troubleshoot Broadworks, Cisco, Paging systems, CDR systems. Provide weekly and ad hoc system performance reports to management.

\xc2\xb7 Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to telecom and applications

\xc2\xb7 Serve as subject matter expert on key technology trends in the industry leading to innovative solutions for business problems and initiatives.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure timely resolution of incident management events and request fulfillment in accordance with defined Service Desk policies and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED / DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Minimum 5+ years of experience related to telecommunications engineering

\xc2\xb7 Experience managing POTS, SIP or PRI circuits along with porting to and from circuits.

\xc2\xb7 In-depth knowledge of project management for new builds and acquisitions

\xc2\xb7 Proven experience in capturing, documenting, and supporting end users requests, as well as working as a key element bridging the needs of the business with the IT capabilities

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to utilize management tools, assuring performance, and interfacing with vendors

\xc2\xb7 Thorough understanding of:

o Cisco Broadworks or Masergy Broadcore

o Nice CXone

o Polycom Phones

o Softphones

o Cisco CUCM

o DID porting

\xc2\xb7 Understand product and software life cycle and capacity planning for telecommunications applications

\xc2\xb7 Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree in related discipline

\xc2\xb7 Strong time management and organizational skills

\xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, problem solving, presentation and leadership skills.
