We are seeking an experienced and dedicated 7th grade math tutor in Birmingham. Instruction will take place in-person, at the school site. The zip code of the school site is 35205. The ideal candidate will be adept at working with small groups and be comfortable with lesson planning. Tutoring would take place from 8:00am-2:40pm Monday through Friday with a 30 minute lunch. The program will start on November 27th, 2023 and end on March 5th, 2024.
The tutor should be caring, dependable, and able to provide personalized instruction for 7th grade students. This position requires the ability to plan and deliver daily lessons to small groups of 4 students. The tutor will meet regularly with teachers to provide progress updates on students and strategize about opportunities for improvement.
A teaching background is not required, but it is preferred. To be successful in this role, the tutor must have a passion to help students succeed. Establishing relationships with students is essential. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be committed to being on-time each day.
