Bismarck Public Schools is accepting applications for an Elementary Instructional Coach for Will-Moore Elementary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor\'s degree in education with five years of teaching experience.

2. A valid North Dakota teaching license.

3. Preference: Experience providing professional development or instructional coaching to adult learners.

4. Preference: Experience teaching multiple grade levels/ranges.

REPORTS TO: Director of Professional Learning and Building Principal/s

JOB GOAL: Provide teachers with coaching and support with the ultimate goal of improving teacher instruction and student learning.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the mission, vision, and values of Bismarck Public Schools.

• Provide support to individual classroom teachers through modeling, co-teaching, observing, and coaching cycles for core instruction and/or interventions based on their professional growth goals.
• Collaborate with principal and other teachers in the building to identify professional development needs for individual teachers, grade-level groups, and/or the entire building.
• Co-Facilitate two district curriculum review teams (ELA, Math, Sci, SS).
• Lead curriculum development at the building and district level in all content areas.
• Assist in the planning, developing and/or delivering of district level professional development.
• Assist in the implementation, growth, and support of district level professional development in the buildings.
• Assist in the implementation, growth, and support of district and building level initiatives in the buildings (including but not exclusive to: Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Effective Teaching, MTSS, and Standards Based Education (SBE).
• Lead building level Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams in creating and strengthening its system.
• Ensure teachers have relevant and timely access to the formative and/or summative assessment data that will help them make day-to-day instructional decisions.
• Provide ongoing training and support to ensure teachers and support personnel know how to administer, collect, and analyze data efficiently and effectively.
• Support teachers in using progress monitoring tools that match interventions and support materials to monitor student growth.
• Ensure that all activities conform to district and state guidelines.
• Provide excellence in customer service both internally and externally.
• Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and instructional techniques.
• Maintain accurate records and filing systems for accountability purposes.
• Communicate effectively with all the members of the school district and community.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of schools, teachers, and classrooms.
• Ability to attend evening curriculum review/development commitments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of content and grade level ND content standards.
• Experience in using assessment results to guide instruction.
• Knowledge of research and best practices in instructional design, effective teaching, and curriculum.
• Growth mindset and commitment to ongoing learning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology and willingness to teach others.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position follows the school calendar. A teaching contract is 187 days. External candidates may bring in up to 15 year of K-12 teaching experience.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated at least once per year collaboratively by the Principal of the school served and the district Director of Professional Learning.
