The Cape Girardeau region has significant reach for its consumers and a labor force encompassing a 40-mile radius.QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARYThe Intake Therapist/Counselor, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake Therapist/Counselor is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. The Intake Therapist/Counselor works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services field or licensed RN.Experience: 1-2 years in the area of substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs, including experience in intake/admissions and managed care preferred.License: State certified in social work or clinical related mental health field is preferred, LPC, LMSW, or LCSW, RN, LFMT license highly preferred. Provisional license will be considered, with supervision.Additional Requirements: CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.
