POSITION OVERVIEW:

The HL7 Interface Engineer maintains existing and brings new source systems into the Great Falls Clinic/Hospital System Umbrella. Our technology platform supports more than 20 applications including a Community Health Record Solution that is designed to meet the diverse needs of the many different users of a state\'s Health Information Exchange (HIE). This role focuses on acquiring data from various sources that we leverage inside our Health System. This role must become accustomed to both the technical and business details of the source systems and engage with multiple technologies to acquire, transform, deploy, and validate new sources of data. That data will be provided in formats like HL7 2.x, C-CDA, and others. This role will assist staff in understanding pre-requisites, troubleshooting issues, and sharing knowledge.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar concentration, required.
• Equivalent experience and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Master\'s Degree in Business or IT, preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years\' experience in healthcare technology-related field with a concentration in interface support and management, highly preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• HL7 Certification, required.
• API Certification, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to read specifications for industry standards like FHIR (r4), HL7 2.x, C-CDA, IHE ITI TF-2, or EDI X12 (Claims), required.
• Ability to read in at least one coding language (C# recommended), required.
