The University of Alabama School of Law seeks qualified applicants for the position of Interim Director of the Criminal Defense Law Clinic and Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Legal Instruction.
Detailed Position Information
The Interim Director of the Criminal Defense Law Clinic and Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Legal Instruction will oversee and/or conduct all phases of legal advocacy for clinic clients, teach and supervise law clinic students, and manage other law clinic staff. We seek applications from entry-level and lateral candidates with demonstrated potential for outstanding law practice and clinical education.
This is a year-round (12-month) contract position. The duration of the contract is negotiable for a period of one to three years. This position is non-tenure earning and does not lead to security of position. Salary and benefits will be nationally competitive. Minimum Qualifications
J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school, a distinguished academic record, and experience as a clinical teacher or practicing lawyer. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Alabama or become licensed no later than one year after accepting the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with significant experience in criminal law matters.
