The City of Springfield is seeking motivated candidates for a paid internship with the Traffic Engineering Division within the Public Works Department. We are seeking a highly dependable candidate who can accept responsibility and be willing to learn quickly in a highly fluid environment.
The project in Traffic Engineering would include an introduction into TES and GIS and would include learning about crash analysis diagrams, crash data, producing maps and updating shapefiles. This role would also be involved in the SGF Yields program, get exposure to the Sign and Marking Shop and learn about day to day operations in Traffic Engineering.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
- Requires enrollment in an accredited university program in a discipline related to the assigned field.
- Requires a valid Drivers License.
