Overview

The Local Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering community engagement and support for students within their area. Because of this, the Local Coordinator must be 26 years old. This position involves overseeing various aspects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the exchange experience for students and their host families. The Local Coordinator will work closely with schools, community organizations, and volunteers to create a supportive environment that promotes cultural learning and personal development.

Duties

Actively network and seek volunteer host families in their communities Play matchmaker...place exchange students into host homes where there are shared interests Provide guidance and support to foreign exchange students Help host families and schools share American traditions and perspectives Serve as mentor, problem-solver, and friend for students and host families Build relationships with local high schools in support of cultural exchange Represent Greenheart Exchange and other Greenheart programs in a professional manner Provide information to American students wishing to study and travel abroad through Greenheart Travel.

Qualifications

Experience working with students in an educational or community setting is highly desirable. Strong recruiting skills to attract and retain volunteers for various initiatives. Proven volunteer management experience, including training and supervising volunteers. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
This role is essential in creating a positive impact on the lives of students within the locality, ensuring they have access to the resources they need for success.
