Ask us about the Fargo Radiology Sponsorship!The Cardiac Cath Lab has 8 angio suites at the new medical center specializing in cardiac cath, vascular, neurovascular (stroke) and structural heart procedures, as well as electrophysiology.Procedures performed in the cath lab include the following: left and right heart catheterizations along with percutaneous intervention as necessary, intracoronary ultrasound, rotational atherectomy, balloon pump insertion, Impella insertion, valvuloplasty, left atrial appendage closure, catheter-directed thrombolysis for pulmonary embolization, structural procedures (TAVI/TAVR), neurovascular cerebral angiograms, stroke treatment, carotid stenting, treatment of cerebral aneurysms with coiling and pipeline interventions, peripheral and renal angiograms with intervention as necessary, Watchmen, CardioMEMs, and Electrophysiology (cardiac devices, ablations, PVI\'s, laser lead extractions). In addition, Sanford Health is the only facility in the region performing the following procedures: Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Mitra clip procedures, EKOS treatment for pulmonary embolization, Angiovac for removal of tricuspid vegetation/pulmonary emboli, and cryoablation for atrial fibrillation.Sanford Health has been recently accredited as a Level 1 Trauma Center and the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the region. Sanford Health is the only site in North Dakota to achieve Mission Lifeline Accreditation from the American Heart Association. The Radiologic Technologist is able to work in all atmospheres including clinic, hospital, ED, and OR settings where there are a broad range of fields like fluoroscopy, surgery, orthopedics, general, and emergency for the Radiologist Technologist to work under. One of the characteristics of a Rad Tech at Sanford is the need for precision, which is important in this line of work because the providers need quality imaging to give diagnoses to their patients.
