Description
Is responsible for managing the development, production and submittal of proposals and related documentation to existing and prospective customers in the government and commercial sectors.
\xc2\xb7 Supports the development, production and submittal of major proposals and as-requested international proposals with the objective of winning contract work to ensure continued company financial health.
\xc2\xb7 Coordinates the proposal process through to delivery, which includes overseeing multiple technical authors and personally writing/editing standard proposal sections [e.g., Experience, Past Performance and Key Personnel; Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H); and Quality Assurance (QA)].
\xc2\xb7 Works with Proposal Manager, Business Development lead, and Technical/Operations personnel to ensure proposal documentation is responsive to, and compliant with, customer requirements. Ensures quality standards are in line with winning proposals.
\xc2\xb7 Ensures proposal formatting meets RFP requirements and company branding/style requirements
\xc2\xb7 Participates in team strategy meetings, performs pre- Request for Proposal (RFP) research.
\xc2\xb7 Distributes RFPs to key proposal team members and coordinates with groups such as ES&H, QA and Contracts on reviews of the RFPs. Conducts thorough reviews of all RFPs.
\xc2\xb7 Works with Proposal Managers to develop compliance/assignments matrix and proposal schedules.
\xc2\xb7 Holds Participates in kickoff meetings for proposal work.
\xc2\xb7 Uses Shipley and Associates methods or similar methods (e.g., the storyboarding process) to ensure the proposal process is managed in a disciplined way and applies a graded approach to the process as appropriate.
\xc2\xb7 Ensures distribution of internal proposal copies.
\xc2\xb7 Archives project experience and resume information as boilerplate information for use on future proposals.
\xc2\xb7 Enters and/or updates opportunity information into Salesforce and develops reports of proposal activity.
\xc2\xb7 Supports the Proposal Manager or Corporate Project Manager on large proposal efforts.
\xc2\xb7 Responsible for the quality of their own work and satisfying customer (internal and external) specifications.
\xc2\xb7 There is no direct supervision of other workers at this level.
\xc2\xb7 Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
\xc2\xb7 Strong verbal and written communication skills
\xc2\xb7 Proven ability to manage and win federal and/or commercial proposals (without direct supervision)
\xc2\xb7 Advanced time management skills
\xc2\xb7 Basic ability to work in a high-stress environment that may require after-hours and weekend work
\xc2\xb7 Proven ability to prepare RFP-compliant and technically accurate written materials and to make proposals interesting, compelling and persuasive
\xc2\xb7 Detailed knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office products
\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of graphics applications and desktop publishing software
\xc2\xb7 Ability to work independently and serve actively as part of a team
\xc2\xb7 Ability to sit
\xc2\xb7 Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
\xc2\xb7 Basic math and computer skills
\xc2\xb7 Ability to work inside an office

Minimum Qualifications and Years of Experience
Education
\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree (Arts, or Sciences) or 5 years of marketing/business experience
Certifications
\xc2\xb7 None required
Required Experience
\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 3 years of experience writing, managing and/or coordinating U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, or other federal or commercial proposals in response to formal requests for proposals
Preferred Experience
\xc2\xb7 Nuclear Energy or other energy industry experience is helpful.
