Job Description

The Junior Mechanical Estimator will assist in preparing estimates for mechanical and piping projects. This role will support the senior estimating team and gain valuable experience in the process of bidding and preparing estimates for a variety of mechanical contracting projects. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly piping, and be eager to learn and grow in the field of construction estimating.

• Assist in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for piping and mechanical systems.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and other documents to assist in determining project scope.
• Help with material takeoffs, labor cost calculations, and supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Support in bid submission and presentation preparation.
• Work closely with the project management team to ensure that estimates align with the project\'s requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information.
• Assist with project buyout, contract administration, and cost tracking as required.

• 1-3 years of experience in mechanical estimating or a related role, with a focus on piping preferred.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems and construction processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of estimating software (such as Quickpen, FastPIPE) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
