Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Temporary Seasonal Kennel Assistant to join our team for our spring break season. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care in a kennel environment. This role involves working closely with various breeds of dogs, ensuring their well-being, cleanliness, and comfort during their stay. The Kennel Assistant will also assist with customer service duties, providing information to pet owners and maintaining a positive atmosphere. Duration of the job will last from 1-3 months dependent on employee performance and kennel volume.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a safe environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in the kennel, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming procedures as needed. Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' well-being and answer any questions. Handle animals safely and effectively, demonstrating proper animal handling techniques. Participate in team meetings to discuss animal care protocols and improvements.

Experience

Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Skills in dog training or pet grooming are a plus. Customer service experience is beneficial for interacting with pet owners effectively. Familiarity with veterinary assistant duties or kennel operations is advantageous. A strong understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques is highly desirable.
