Key Account Manager - Southeast Coast Region

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Key Account Manager (KAM) you will have ownership of the entire Bayer product portfolio with regional key account leadership and will facilitate the breadth of business plan activities in cooperation with the local Bayer Sales Team. This is a residence-based position focusing on the Southeast Coast Region, which includes the following states: East Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Southeast Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia. You will be expected to maximize portfolio sales by focusing on building strong relationships with decision makers at affiliated/independent accounts as well as influence, guide and support Bayer internal stakeholders affiliated with the account. This role will report to the Key Account Lead \xe2\x80\x93 Brad Luechtefeld.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Key Account Manager, are to:

  • Provide strategic leadership (Bayer\xe2\x80\x99s) with key account Leadership (Owners/Home office/GM, Agronomy Lead, Sales Lead, Precision Lead, Seed Lead, Crop Protection Lead, and Proprietary Brands Lead) that aligns account strategic goals with Bayer strategic goals to create a win/win partnership with the account;
  • Work closely with the account to identify business opportunities while utilizing national marketing programs and creative approaches where feasible to capitalize on those opportunities;
  • Ensure that strategic direction/tactics flow through the account organization by working closely with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Reps to coordinate agreed upon \'push\' and \'pull\' strategies and ensure that direction gets down to the accounts regional, division and location levels;
  • Collaborate with Regional Account Managers, Area Business Managers, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Operations to ensure win/win partnership is executed;
  • Manage & execute Business Plans, CCO\xe2\x80\x99s, forecasting, budgets, inventory, and multi-year agreements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required;
  • Proven success in building effective business relationships across large divisions of organizations;
  • Business acumen, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, leadership;
  • Ability to balance the Bayer and customer needs to achieve mutually beneficial business results;
  • A high degree of leadership and collaboration existing between Bayer internal field teams and the account;
  • Strong communication & influencing skills to drive execution of the account plans with stakeholders;
  • Account management skills that include big picture understanding and creative solutions;
  • Possess a valid driver\'s license and clear/maintain appropriate company Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) and safety expectations;
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%-70%.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8 years relevant experience plus a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in related field or Qualification & Competencies:
  • 6 years relevant experience plus a Masters Degree or MBA in related field.
  • Direct selling experience preferred.
