Job Description


We are immediately hiring for an Entry-Level Chemistry Lab Technician here in the Columbus, Ohio area! This role will be working in a laboratory that does research for the government and can vary in day-to-day activities.DESCRIPTION:The chemistry technician is responsible for sample preparation, sample analysis utilizing LC, GC, ICP and/or other specialized instrumentation, maintaining supplies and glassware, maintaining inventories, preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of chemistry samples for analysis utilizing a variety of wet chemical techniques.
  • Processing of samples.
  • Preparation of calibration standards and solutions.
  • Preparation and handling of formulations.
  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
  • Conducts standard as well as non-standard tasks under close supervision and guidance of more experienced staff. Keeps supervisor informed regularly on status of work.
  • Perform all aspects of instrument operations including instrument set up, calibrations, troubleshooting, operation, maintenance, and instrument documentation. Specific operations include data acquisition, data editing, report generating, and instrument/data management system interfacing
  • Process analytical data utilizing validated data systems for inclusion into reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all work following GLP guidelines.
  • Complete quality reviews of data.
  • Operate approved plans and procedures and recommend changes to current SOPs.
  • Operate under chemical hygiene and laboratory safety requirements.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in a scientific field (Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred, but not required).
  • Pay will vary based on experience
