Job Description

The Department of Pathology Histology Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to perform difficult technical procedures and allied duties related to the function of a service laboratory; maintains laboratory area and equipment. Performs a variety of laboratory tasks related to processing specimens, computer/clerical duties, routine lab maintenance, and supply distribution. This position is 100% time, Monday - Friday, 0500-1330.



Duties to include:


Delivers completed cases to appropriate personnel in the department of anatomic pathology (match-up). Maintains Hematoxylin and Eosin automated stainer Files paraffin blocks and unstained slides Prepares reagents and chemicals. Assists with laboratory inspections.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:




High school plus two years of related laboratory experience, including one year as a Laboratory Technician I or equivalent level experience, or Certified Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification, or Any combination of related post high school education and experience which totals two years.

Special Qualifications:




Medical terminology Biological science coursework, i.e. Anatomy, Biology, etc...

Desirable Qualifications:




MLA(ASCP) certification or eligible.
