About Us:

Punta Gorda Adventures is located in the picturesque Punta Gorda Florida area, our charter company is dedicated to delivering exceptional boating adventures. We specialize in offering a verity of charters, sightseeing tours, and private excursions, catering to both local residents and tourists seeking the ultimate aquatic experience. We are the preferred water sports and luxury boat tour company for a large local resort. We manage and provide a large variety of boats, yachts and even aircraft.

Position Overview:

As a Charter Boat Captain, you will be responsible for safely operating our vessels and ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of our guests. Our primary boat that we are currently hiring for is "The Oasis". The Oasis is a 35ft catamaran/barge style tiki boat with twin outboards. This is a commercially inspected vessel that can carry up to 33 guests and will be operated with a first mate. While this is defiantly one of our most fun boats, it is NOT a booze cruise. We cater to the more mature crowd that is still looking to have fun but also is looking for comfort and service. Most of our standard charters are two hours long. However pay will be based on a per charter rate. We offer both day and sunset/night public(shared) and private charters. Your duties will include navigating near coastal and partly protected waters of Charlotte Harbor and the peace river, leading a verity of tours from live entertainment to private catered events, providing knowledgeable commentary during sightseeing tours, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the boat. Also, duties include maintaining the USCG COI paperwork requirements such as mandatory crew training and safety inspections along with following up with the owners and minor mechanical servicing and repairs when needed.

We are looking for a captain that wants to be a partner that wants to grow with our company, not just an employee. We are a team of both local businesses and a highly motivated group. This IS NOT a Just TURN the KEY and go captain job.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate and navigate charter boats in various weather conditions.

- Lead and assist guests during trips, ensuring a memorable experience.

- Conduct sightseeing tours, providing informative and engaging commentary.

- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the vessel, including routine inspections and minor repairs.

- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.

- Provide excellent customer service and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the journey.

Requirements:

- US Coast Guard Captain's License (50 or 100-ton Master License).

-Must be part of our drug consortium program.

-Must have FCC Radio License

- Experience as a Charter Boat Captain, preferably in the Punta Gorda or Southwest Florida area.

-Leadership as a captain and able to work with other crew members.

- Strong knowledge of local waters, including local area depths and points of interest.

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment as needed.

- CPR and First Aid certification (as required by USCG).

- Willingness to help foster and train new first mates.
