is a key team member responsible for training new and existing caregivers to ensure they provide high-quality care and meet all state regulations. This role also serves as a backup caregiver, filling in for call-outs or staff shortages to maintain seamless daily operations at Providence Care.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Development:
Conduct orientation and onboarding training for new caregivers, ensuring they understand policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Provide ongoing training in areas such as infection control, person-centered care, emergency procedures, and best practices in adult care.
Evaluate caregiver skills through observation and feedback, offering coaching as needed.
Ensure all caregivers complete required annual training per Georgia state regulations.
Maintain accurate training records and documentation for compliance.
Floater Duties (Caregiver Coverage):
Provide direct care to participants, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), toileting, mobility, and feeding as needed.
Engage participants in social and recreational activities, promoting a stimulating and inclusive environment.
Ensure participant safety by following infection control, emergency, and safety protocols.
Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup when required.
Fill in for caregivers during staff absences, adjusting to different participant needs as necessary.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all care provided aligns with Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) regulations and Providence Care policies.
Monitor staff adherence to safety protocols and report any concerns to management.
Assist in incident documentation and reporting when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; CNA or PCA certification preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in adult day care, home care, or a similar healthcare setting.
Prior experience as a trainer, mentor, or lead caregiver is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of Georgia adult day care regulations and compliance standards.
Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment and adapt to different roles.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
CPR and First Aid certification
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with participant mobility.
Must be able to stand, walk, and assist participants for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a team-oriented and client-focused environment.
