Mid Valley Disposal is currently seeking applicants for our dynamic Operations Team. In this role, you will help Mid Valley Disposal by leading a team towards the success of the daily collection of solid waste & recyclables in a specific location. While safely operating a collection truck, the Lead Commercial Driver will work with the Route Supervisor and fill in when needed on the daily routes. With knowledge and experience in DOT regulations ensuring compliance with all company policies providing safe, efficient day-to-day operations and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WOULD BE EXPECTED TO:

• Assist Route Supervisors in the enforcement of all company policies and procedure
• Ensuring a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively via radio with supervisors, dispatch, and other drivers while in the field
• Assist Route Supervisors in the daily task including, reports, training, route observations
• Train new drivers on assigned routes, cross-train existing drivers on alternate lines of hauling operations
• Working until the job is completed each day and performing overtime as needed to fulfill daily assignments
• Drive a garbage truck safely on specified routes to collect solid waste mechanically and manually
• Transport solid waste to appropriate disposal sites
• Comply with all DOT requirements and corporate safety standards
• Assist with other MVD departments regarding special projects including, cleanups, parades, and community events
• Respond to customer complaints and courteously serve and interact with customers
• Work as part of a team

• Be reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

• 4-years of paid experience with a Commercial Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License, waste experince preferred but not required
• Air brake endorsement
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver License with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to use computers
• Email

Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate. Schedule will be Monday through Friday occasionally Saturday.

Hourly rate will be determined based on experience, $20-$25 Hourly.
