:Your ImpactHearst\'s internal technology team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer candidate. You will be building technology that powers our extensive publishing tools and rich content experiences.You\'ll join a diverse, supportive community of engineers working on a modern content technology stack giving our clients and internal users tools that enable them to create and deliver amazing content. Our tech stack includes Python, JavaScript, Node.js, GraphQL, and React. We\'re building an open, service-oriented platform driven by APIs, and believe in crafting simple, elegant solutions to complex technological and product problems. Our platform is built on AWS and Kubernetes with deployments automated through Slack bots.As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements, architect scalable solutions, and ensure the successful execution of projects. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building innovative software products.Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers. Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Architecture and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and architect scalable, robust, and maintainable software solutions. Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and tools to meet project requirements.
• Development: Lead the development and implementation of software solutions, ensuring high-quality code that meets performance, scalability, and security requirements. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Project Management: Manage project timelines, priorities, and resources effectively. Work closely with product managers to understand project goals and deliverables, and ensure timely delivery of software releases.
• Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Work closely with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and contribute to the evolution of development processes and methodologies.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and leadership. Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues, and proactively address any challenges that may arise.
• Accountable: Overseeing and ensuring the quality of work produced by other engineers on the team, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure project success.

Qualifications:Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and/or:
• 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in full-stack or back-end development.
• Proven experience in leading software development teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Node and frameworks such as React.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience designing, implementing, and deploying microservices-based architectures.

This is a hybrid position out of our NYC office.
