Overview:

Under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Nurse, performs various duties assisting nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established nursing standards. These duties may include assisting nurses, unit secretary/monitor technician, phlebotomy, or EKG.


Responsibilities:
Provides direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans Assists patient with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting Assist in transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to nursing team Accuchecks completed as directed Accurate and prompt documentation Assist with patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers Support patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities. Removing trays in timely manner. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes Completes hourly rounds to assigned patients and anticipates patient needs. Responding promptly to call lights and patient requests Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers. Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care and hospital procedures

Qualifications:
One year experience preferred as a unit administrative, Nursing Assistant, or Phlebotomist. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Competencies Skills:
Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members Able To Withstand Crisis Situations Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records

Credentials:
BLS - Basic Life Saving Certification

Education:
High school graduate or equivalent

Other Information: One year experience preferred as a Unit administrative, Nursing Assistant, or Phlebotomist. Entry: USD $17.25/Hr. Expert: USD $26.74/Hr.
