NEEDED: LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE II (LPN)

LOCATION: Old NC Highway 75, Butner, NC 27509

HOURS: 8 hours per day / not to exceed 40 hours per week

SHIFTS:

• Day Watch: 7:00 AM \xe2\x80\x93 3:30 PM
• Evening Watch: 3:00 PM \xe2\x80\x93 11:30 PM
• Morning Watch: 11:00 PM \xe2\x80\x93 7:30 AM

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess the necessary skills, abilities, and credentials to perform professional nursing services requested.
• Shall possess experience in utilizing the following listed or similar equipment: IMED intra-venous pump, Marquett EKG machine, Welch-Allyn vital sign monitor, Hewlett-Packard monitors, Code Master AED\xe2\x80\x99s, Pyxis medication dispensing machines for medications,
• Kangaroo Pump for tube feedings, and Accu-check for glucose checks.
• Must hold a valid and current registration as a professional nurse in a state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Must have a minimum of two years recent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, Medical/Surgical or psychiatric care facility.
• Experience working with an inmate population is preferred, but not required.
• Proof of CPR certification.
• Proof of Flu and COVID vaccination or declination
• Annual proof, acceptable to the Clinical Director, of Tuberculosis skin testing. If positive, initial and annual proof of a negative chest x-ray.
• Documentation of medication administration

DUTIES:

• Licensed Practical Nurse II provides nursing care requiring an understanding of diseases and illnesses sufficient to enhance communications with physicians, registered nurses, and patients, follows general instructions in addition to established policies, practices and procedures, uses judgment to vary sequence of procedures based on patient\'s condition and previous instructions. Supervisory approval for requested deviations is given routinely.
• Guidance is provided for unusual occurrences.
• At FCC Butner, a LPN II can perform all nursing tasks of the RN except for TPN/Blood/PCA Administration, IV/medication pushes, chest tube care, gastric lavage, PICC/Central Line care.
