Scope of Position

Provides care and directs the staff to follow the resident plan of care as determined by the Head Nurse.

Example of duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Complies with nursing standards as established by N.H. Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and the facility.
• Supervises, delegates and evaluates the work performance of LNAs on the unit assigned and identifies learning needs. .
• Maintains resident privacy, dignity, confidentiality; promotes safe, comfortable environment.
• Performs and signs drug count at change of shift and documents according to RCNH policy.
• Assesses residents and identifies, reports and documents any change in resident\'s status.
• Assumes responsibility for documentation of self and LNAs, which meets RCNH policy standards and State/Federal requirements including nurse\'s notes and incident reports.
• Identifies and utilizes infection control techniques at all times in accordance with RCNH Policy and Standard Precautions.
• Assumes responsibility for all aspects of care related to admissions, transfers or discharges.

Typical qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a state approved school of nursing and possess a valid New Hampshire LPN License.
• Must possess qualities of leadership and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing
• Must possess ability to work harmoniously with others and delegate authority wisely.

Supplemental Information

SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL:

• 2nd Shift: $2.75/hour
• 3rd Shift: $3.50/hour
• Weekend Premium: $2.00/hour
