Hampstead Hospital & Residential Treatment Facility (HHRTF) is an acute inpatient psychiatric hospital and a residential treatment program that treats children, adolescents, and young adults. HHRTF is located in a beautiful setting in southern New Hampshire that provides plenty of outdoor areas to play, walk, and promote well-being. Children deserve to have healthy and happy childhoods so that they can grow into wholesome and happy adults. How you make a difference
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), your primary responsibility is to employ the Nursing Process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of comprehensive psychiatric and general nursing care. You will work within the scope of your practice, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Additionally, you will be actively involved in making and receiving assignments, setting priorities, and participating in various program services as directed.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care services, including treatment, recovery plan development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
Administer medications with a thorough understanding of all requirements and practice standards, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and proper documentation.
Develop therapeutic relationships based on knowledge of mental health disorders and principles of psychiatric rehabilitation, respecting patients\' language and scope of practice.
Demonstrate expertise in nursing services procedures and proper utilization of medical equipment, including glucometers.
Display sensitivity to cultural diversity, individualizing care and considering age-specific developmental needs of each patient, while applying critical thinking and sound judgment in various situations. Perform assigned duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing or vocational school.
Experience
One (1) year of experience in a secure, psychiatric or acute care setting is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Current applicable State of New Hampshire license to practice professional nursing; or eligible for registration through the Multistate Recognition - Nurse Licensure Compact.
CPR Certification (within 3 months of hire)
CPI Certification (within 3 months of hire)
