Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Health Care Staff Needed at the Paterson Community Health Center, a provider of primary family healthcare services to some 14,000 patients- Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics, Adult Medicine, Podiatry, and Dental; dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the Greater Paterson New Jersey Community

Reports To: Nursing Supervisor or Nursing Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Management of clinical area and assign task to LPN and CMA/CMT
• Development and implementation of patient care plan
• Provides patient education as needed
• Assess medical and medical educational needs of patients
• Work with physicians regarding health care plan needs of the patient
• Responsible for the interpretation and implementation of physicians orders
• Assists the physician in the examination and treatment of patients
• Order necessary medical supplies as need as a result of monthly inventory
• Triaging of patients and inquiries both in person and by phone
• Dispense medication as ordered by physician, following accepted nursing standard of care
• Performs laboratory and diagnostic treatment procedures utilizing necessary and available medical equipment.
• Maintenance of medical equipment
• Assist in the maintenance of patient flow
• Review laboratory and diagnostic results
• Follows up on medical no show appointments either by written or verbal communications
• Maintenance of all clinical logs
• Assist in quality assurance activity with chart audits
• Other duties as assigned by Nursing Supervisor

Qualification

Registered nurse license to practice in New Jersey

Completion of training with one year experience in clinical setting

As an FQHC organization the health center is requested to ensure that the majority of the health center\xe2\x80\x99s Board of Directors are health center patients. The health center\xe2\x80\x99s Board is (representative) of the health center patients and the Paterson, NJ community. By race and ethnicity, the board members are African-American, White, Latino and Middle Eastern. The board members bring to the health center a wealth of knowledge and experience in the fields of law, public safety, business, finance, health care and social services.
