Posting Title: Lieutenant, Emergency Response, Planning & Training Specialist Overview:The Emergency, Response, Planning & Training Specialist assists with coordinating all emergency planning and management operations for the University, to include University-wide emergency preparedness programs and initiatives. The Emergency, Response, Planning & Training Specialist assists with providing the structure to guide Catholic University and its various stakeholders in preparing for, preventing, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters. This Specialist works closely with federal and local law enforcement agencies to coordinate services and activities to enhance safety within the boundaries of the University. They will be responsible for continuously developing, implementing, evaluating, and delivering emergency preparedness-related training, exercise activities, after action evaluation, and improve planning processes for the entire campus community.Assist with delivering safety trainings, emergency preparedness exercises, emergency alerting, safety/security assessments, security and law enforcement. To provide protection of persons and property on the campus of The Catholic University of America by utilizing police skills and patrolling techniques to maintain a safe environment. To enforce laws of the District of Columbia, as well as university rules, regulations, and policies. The Specialist shall assist the Crime Prevention Officer/ Training Coordinator with training programs for members of the department. Also serving as a campus police officer; the Lieutenant shall assist primary shift supervisors by providing supervisory relief on patrol shifts in the absence of the assigned patrol shift supervisors. The Specialist works under the guidance and direction of the Associate Director of Public Safety. Develops and implements the planning, preparation, and staff training for response to emergencies in accordance with National, State, and local emergency preparedness requirements and standards. Documents procedures for response actions and ensures staff is prepared and trained to respond to emergency events. Coordinates with leadership, security, and community authorities to maintain up-to-date operational plans and equipment for emergency response. Organizes and participates in exercises or drills. Maintains a system to record and document procedures and incidents. Remain available 24/7 during emergencies and planned events requiring support. Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including students, staff, and faculty, as well as others, internal and external to the University, in the performance of duties.The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: up to $60,000- $64,500.Responsibilities:
