Job Summary and Qualifications
The Lift Team EMT responds to requests for transport and moved patients throughout the hospital using beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. The Lift Team EMT interacts with Hospital staff, patients, visitors with respect and kindness while conducting transfers and provides and exceptional experience on every interaction. The Lift Team EMT supports the mission, vision statements and goals of Alaska Regional Hospital (ARH). Job Duties \xe2\x80\x93 \xe2\x80\xa2 Responds to requests for transport and creates/maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures that they follow proper body mechanics, ergonomics, and preventive back care. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provides assistance, and direction to ARH customers they encounter. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responds to requests for transport and creates/maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times. \xe2\x80\xa2 Moves patients throughout the facility using beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. \xe2\x80\xa2 Interacts with Hospital staff, patients, and patient families while conducting transfers. \xe2\x80\xa2 Handles various medical equipment including: oxygen tanks, IV Poles, Catheter Bags, etc. \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiar with and utilizes appropriate level of PPE based on posted precautions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Observes and reports unsafe conditions, hazards, and security violations when found, including blocked ingress and egress and unauthorized persons. \xe2\x80\xa2 Utilizes Rover to track transport requests. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responds to and assists with specific Hospital Codes only as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or designee. Your Patient Transport S.O.P.\xe2\x80\x99s will provide direction on Code Response procedures for your post. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, leaders, staff and the public, under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Accepts direction/reassignment to another Post or Site as is needed for operational necessity. \xe2\x80\xa2 Protects patient confidentiality and protected health information (PHI) at all times. Job Requirements (Education and Experience)
  • EMT II license in the State of Alaska
  • One year experience working in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

\xe2\x80\xa2 Must demonstrate strong customer service skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous and professional manner in keeping with policy. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must have the ability to be on their feet for long periods of time. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must be able to push/pull patients of various sizes in beds, stretchers and wheelchairs. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
