Description
Dauphin County Social Services for Children & Youth is currently accepting applications for the Limited-term Part-Time position of Caseworker 2.
An employee in this position interviews, assesses, and plans or provides social services to children, adolescents, and their families. He/she establishes and maintains associated confidential records and collaborates with legal staff in judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings pursuant to clients\' wellbeing. The incumbent may make task assignments to an Aide and reports to the Casework Supervisor (with subsequent review by the Manager of Social Services or the Agency Administrator). An employee in this position must live within approximately 50 miles of children placed in the Western region of Pennsylvania. This person must currently be certified by the Child Welfare Resource Center of the University of Pittsburgh to perform child welfare casework in Pennsylvania. This person must also conduct face-to-face visitation regularly as required from where the individual is currently residing. All documentation of casework will be done remotely.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements
A. EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or A bachelor\'s degree with a social welfare or Social Work major; or A bachelor\'s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency.
B. WORK EXPERIENCE:
One year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency. Must be a current certified caseworker with current work experience from a Pennsylvania County Office of Children, Youth and Families or have been employed by a Pennsylvania County Office of Children Youth and Families within the past year.

A valid driver\'s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable reference checks are required.
