Job ID: 499085Standard Ready Mix, A CRH Company, delivers top-quality ready mix concrete for residential, commercial, agricultural, and heavy highway needs from its plants in northwest Iowa and Vermillion, South Dakota.Position OverviewThe Loader Operator is responsible for but not limited to general housekeeping, filling and maintaining aggregate bins or piles, stacking product, loading and unloading product following established policies and procedures. This position involves the maintenance and operation of conveyor, screening and crushing equipment, and the operation of a front-end loader, for the purpose of loading aggregate materials.Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Operate a straight or articulated rubber-tire tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage/aggregate piles or bins to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes.
• Operate a loader and other equipment under minimum supervision performing duties independently with only general direction given.
• Perform necessary pre and post shift inspections verifying the equipment is in safe working order.
• Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as adding air to tires, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Load haul trucks, load customer trucks, feed portable plant, stockpile and load bins.
• Complete Equipment Inspection Report/Checklist as necessary and report any necessary repairs to supervisor as needed.
• Perform all work in a safe manner always complying with all plant policies.
• Create and maintain inclines and ramps to excavated materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Education/Experience

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Six months to one year of experience as a loader operator or similar role.
• Experience running other heavy equipment preferred.

Work Requirements

• Must be 18 years in age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Must maintain current drivers license that meets state requirements.
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
• Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Knowledge in operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and construction sites.
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.
• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations to keep time and material records.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment.

• Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
• May require sitting for extended periods of time.
• Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Able to climb ladders and to work at heights.
• Able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects, 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.
