Overview

:

LPNs practice under the Virginia State Board of Nursing and under the supervision of a professional registered nurse. The Centra Medical Group (CMG) licensed practical nurse (LPN) coordinates and provides care to patients in a medical practice under the tenets of Centra\'s Professional Practice Model. The LPN collaborates with providers and members of the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. The LPN coordinates the various care processes that are necessary to achieve desired outcomes. The LPN works to promote and sustain a culture reflective of Centra\'s mission, vision, and values. The practice of the LPN reflects the American Nurses Association\'s (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the Nurses Practice Act of Virginia, and the ANA Principles of Nurse Staffing.

Qualifications/Education/Licensure:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Previous experience in a medical office preferred.

Hold a current, active license as a practical nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a practical nurse.
BLS certification within the first six months of employment, and maintain current BLS certification.
