Utility/Maintenance Worker

Green Door Hospitality operates two properties in Oakhurst, California which require a team of qualified individuals to improve and repair the structures and surrounding property. We are looking for someone to join our team that enjoys working on unique and various projects at all three properties. The Maintenance/Utility Worker position supports all other departments and works with other members of the team to do whatever it takes to get the job done. No two days are ever the same!

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be help maintain all equipment, systems and building components including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, water well system, plumbing, doors, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile, generators, BBQ's, fireplaces, propane systems, fire extinguishing and alarm systems, and other equipment used in maintaining and caring for the property. There will be a significant amount of outdoor work, including forestry management, landscaping, and equipment movement.

primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintain assigned areas. Excellent organizational and cleanliness skills are required to maintain clean and neat areas, storage facilities, and equipment. Protect all assets from risk, damage, misuse, and theft. Work outdoors and in various environments and conditions, including rain and snow. Build, repair, clean and maintain all parts of the property and equipment. Assist with cleaning outdoor areas between guest stays. Perform basic light construction tasks, light equipment operation (i.e., drill, circular saw, impact driver, chain saw, leaf blower, wheelbarrow, etc.), medium equipment operation (i.e., wood splitter, pressure washer skid steer, trailers, utility vehicle), plumbing repairs, and basic electrical tasks. Install and replace lighting fixtures and bulbs. Operate propane systems, monitor levels, fill propane tanks and maintainBBQ's. Perform general landscaping duties needed to maintain the property including raking, shoveling, sweeping, vegetation trimming, planting vegetation, watering, drip line maintenance, snow removal, etc. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction. Communicates with direct supervisor about machine operation variations to diagnose the problem or repair the machine/equipment. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts. Travel/drive to specific, approved locations to pick up supplies, equipment, and other items as assigned. Valid California drivers license is required for this position. Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment, including furniture and fixtures. Assist housekeeping with general repairs, cleaning, stocking, and equipment movement. Transport heavy boxes and packages around the property for maintenance and repairs. Assist in delivering and setup of all equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, food & beverage equipment, etc. Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working. Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs. Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, replace light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs. Replace and repair water pumps and water feature components, as well as preventative maintenance on units. Trace and repair all types of water lines, shower, sink and toilet fixtures. Assist with water well monitoring and basic repairs. Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment. Work in other positions needed during peak check in/out periods. Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards. Ensure overall guest satisfaction. Perform other duties as requested by management. Work schedule varies and may include various shifts, including working late nights, early mornings, on holidays and weekends. Must be on-call to respond to emergency situations or maintenance malfunctions. Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting of heavy opbects, bending, and reaching, kneeling, stooping, crawling, and climbing. This position requires physical work and endurance in outdoor environments, extreem cold and extreem heat. Frequently work over 5000 ft. elevation.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a maintenance worker or landscaper is preferred. Must be experienced with a wide variety of tools and equipment, including small engine operation. Must be an excellent driver with experience driving in rough terrain, 4WD situations, SXS operation, etc. Ability to be professional, lead yourself, and work with others in creative circumstances to accomplish goals for the property. Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some overnight shifts may be needed from time to time (less than 5% of the time) Maintain a valid California Driver's License during employment
The candidate must possess a passion for maintaining the property and its diverse assets, along with a desire to keep things clean and organized. Work is performed in an outdoor environment that has various weather, terrain, and environmental conditions. Requires the ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate must be extremely organized, personable, and enthusiastic. This person will be the face of the company and part of the customer interaction process, and as such needs to maintain the highest level of professionalism, personal presentation, and customer service.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
