Maintenance Manager-Batesville Mill

Batesville ~ Arkansas

Batesville Mill, a subsidiary of Independent Stave Company, is seeking a Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day needs and requirements by ensuring that high-performance maintenance services are provided to all internal plant departments to meet the safety, quality, and production goals.

Salary: $100,000 to $125,000, based on experience

Essential Functions of the Maintenance Manager:

• Directs the maintenance repair of plant equipment, machines, buildings, and grounds and manages the work order system.
• Maintains all necessary maintenance records and prepares required reports to monitor productivity, OEE, and PM effectiveness. Drive improvement.
• Contracts with outside vendors for equipment repairs and abnormal maintenance. Assures that all contractors are trained in safety matters and that insurance certificates are on file.
• Develops and controls the budget for all maintenance areas. Forecasts maintenance plan (personnel, equipment, and space requirements).
• Maintains a preventive maintenance program for machines, equipment, buildings, and grounds. Must maintain PM records for all equipment and recommend changes to improve OEE based on trends.
• Maintains tool crib for maintenance. Establishes an adequate inventory of replacement and repair parts for equipment and machines. Oversees procurement of necessary parts.
• Participate in establishing, maintaining, and training an effective plant emergency organization.
• Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and developing maintenance personnel and apprenticeship employees.
• Assist in the continuing training and development of maintenance personnel, and ensure that safety procedures and safe work practices are in use and followed.
• Completes annual performance reviews and monitors the performance of personnel.
• Stays up to date with "state of the art" equipment, software, and maintenance techniques.
• Participates in understanding and adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations. Makes sure that equipment and processes meet all requirements and initiates safety review on all new methods and equipment.
• Ensure all Environmental Requirements and OSHA Regulations are met.

Basic Qualifications of the Maintenance Manager:

• Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited institution (Or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Five years of experience in a Manufacturing Environment
• Two years of prior Managerial experience
• Knowledge of safe working practices (Lockout Tagout, PPE, confined space)
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications of the Maintenance Manager:

• Engineering or Technical Degree preferred
• Strong knowledge in the electrical and mechanical fields, equipment and machine design, and building and plant maintenance techniques is required. In addition, knowledge of structural and architectural matters is helpful.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements, is required.
• Prior experience developing company policies, procedures, and budget control.
